OctoPrint is the first upgrade that you should do once you have your Ender printer ready. The OctoPrint itself is awesome but what makes it even better is the plethora of plugins that make it even better.

Here are the most essential plugins that you should install on your OctoPrint.

  1. DetailedProgress

A plugin that sends commands to the printer to display the progress of the print job is currently streamed.

2. Bed Visualizer

This plugin renders a 3D surface of the bed’s reported mesh. This will work only if you have auto bed leveling sensors such as BLTouch.

3. Octolapse

This plugin creates a stabilized timelapse of your 3D prints.

4. HeaterTimeout

OctoPrint Plugin that automatically shuts down heaters after a specified idle timeout. Often I find myself heating up the bed and nozzle then gets distracted. This plugin helps to keep the printer and its surroundings safe.

5. NavbarTemp

This plugin displays temperatures on the navbar for your easy reference.

6. IFTTT

This plugin connects OctoPrint events to IFTTT. When the printer is hooked with a smart plug you can configure it such that, when a very long print is getting completed in the middle of the night, the printer will get automatically shuts down.

7. Themify

A small OctoPrint plugin to change the looks of OctoPrint. I love the dark theme on my mac and this plugin helps me choose that look.

8. PrintJobHistory

This OctoPrint plugin stores all print-job information in a database.

9.Taborder

Simple plugin to allow the ordering of tabs within OctoPrint. When you have many plugins installed, you may be interested to re-order them based on the frequency of access.
